The original business was founded in 1998 on the principals of local empowerment and job creation. African Trails specialises in the design, manufacturing and supply of a large range of African curios and accessories.
During 2025 a new company, African Trails (Pty) Ltd was formed. This company is located in Montague Gardens. The promotion of crafting skills as well as the promotion of hand crafted items over cheaper mass manufactured imports is a continued focus of African Trails.
Various components are manufactured on site and then assembled by our staff members according to each order received from the customer.
This has allowed us to ensure better quality control, easier customization of existing products and easier development of new products. Currently African Trails products can be found in many gift shops, game lodges, and other large outlets in South Africa and a number of other African countries.
